Reimagining Mathematics Education for a New Generation
The Global Math Summit is a landmark five-day gathering dedicated to transforming the way mathematics is taught, experienced, and understood around the world.
From September 28 to October 1, we will welcome a diverse group of hand-selected educators, researchers, and thought leaders to the Hotel Regina Margherita, united by a shared mission: to make math more joyful, meaningful, and accessible for every student.
Our Story
The Global Math Summit began with a simple idea: bring joy and wonder back into math education.
It started when Sunil Singh and Amy Alznauer connected over social media, both disillusioned by the rigid, joyless approach to K–12 math. In August 2023, a message from Atticus Lyon, a partner at IMARK, sparked a new vision—a summer math retreat in Sardinia.
That vision grew with the support of Atticus and Roberta Marcenaro Lyon, CEO of IMARK, and was inspired by Sunil’s math journey with their 7-year-old daughter, Amoret. The dream of a quiet retreat evolved into a global summit—a movement to reshape mathematics education for generations to come.
Our Mission
We’re not just changing how math is taught—we’re building an entirely new model of education. Our mission is to create a scalable, sustainable, equitable, and inspiring vision for mathematics learning. One that replaces outdated paradigms with a model rooted in:
Wonder and discovery
Deep conceptual understanding
Human connection through mathematics

What Makes Us Different?
The Summit is built on three transformative pillars:
1. Revitalizing Number Theory and Beyond
Rediscover mathematical topics often missing from curricula—like Number Theory—that deepen students’ understanding and unlock the path to algebra.
2. Bridging History and Discovery
Math is more than formulas—it’s a human story. By highlighting historical narratives, we connect learners with the beauty and universality of mathematics.
3. Mathematics as a Path to Human Flourishing
We believe math can inspire creativity, curiosity, and personal growth—building empathy and unity across cultures and communities.
